I always liked the opposite of that:

Wow. As of right now, the only thing my system can reach on the network is LoT. That includes other systems within our lab network.

Something must be wrong with our DNS or gateway server, but since I was just on the LoT, the route is cached on my local machine, so it can still get here. But nowhere else. Aw shucks.

Sid made it through surgery and is spending another night at the vet. He's doped up on pain meds, which is good 'cause he probably hurts like hell.
