![]() So, songs and music typically bring out certain emotions in people. One song has always had an affect on me and that song is "Moon River" sung by Andy Williams. I love the song, Williams has an amazing voice, the music is pure excellence but I just can't figure out why this song has always moved me so.
What songs make you feel some sort of strong emotion? (Be it anger, happyness, sadness, etc.) |

Calling all Angels - A Jane Sibery song done by k.d.lang from the Until the End of the World Soundtrack, always puts me at peace.
Many Cole Porter songs will put a smile on my face.

There are so many songs that get to me, I pretty much could have a soundtrack to my life.
But one song that comes to mind is the Neil Diamond/Barbra Striesand 'You Don't Bring Me Flowers'. It is really sad to me. 'On The Street Where You Live' done by Harry Connick, Jr. and I think he covered it from Dean Martin? I have both and I love them. Just puts a happy little kick in my step. For a lot of reasons but I heard it once, also, when I was nearing my moms house, where I grew up. I was happy to be going to see her, that I still have her to go see. I had that feeling they sing about in the song. Ya know?

Crowded House "Don't Dream (It's Over)." I love that song- a perfect mix of new wave and old school, Procul Harum stuff. I want it at my funeral, if I have one.

I have a lot of songs that bring out strong emotions in me. Most of them remind me of ex's and old friends. The other day an old song by The Escape Club, I'll be there came up in my playlist and I was sobbing because it reminded me of two friends who died 14 years ago. ![]() |

I find that almost anything by Rufus Wainwright brings me happiness, as sad as any of it might be, it's something I can truly feel when I'm in a funk. And feeling it is always a good thing. Wanting to burst out of yourself when a song comes on... always a good thing.
For me today, "California" by Rufus Wainwright. It's totally how I feel.

I just put it on my iTunes, and it sounds different in iTunes than my car. Not better or worse, but different. Hrmmm...
