Is gmail really all that? I hear about people having invites, but I never hear anyone talking about whether they like it or not--or did you have to agree not to discuss your exclusive swank email account with us civilians?

I don't have one but I know of one specific instance where gmail is fantastic. Mousepod has a gmail account that he announces on his podcast. Since gmail has a huge amount of server space, people can email him audio clips for his show without worrying about overloading it.
