A Jewish man was going to be knighted by Queen Elizabeth. According to tradition, when being knighted, the knightee says a set piece in Latin. The knightee had never studied Latin, but memorized the phrase. During the ceremony, his mind went blank. Knowing he was expected to say something in a foreign language he said: "Ma nishtana haleila hazeh mikole halailot." The Queen, upon hearing this, said: "Why is this knight different than all other knights."

Sooo....American Girl opened a store in Denver at the Park Meadows mall. They were giving a goodie bag to the first 100 girls and Rose wanted to be one of them-so we spent the night on the sidewalk outside the store. In the wind snow and drizzle-we were not alone-there were hundreds of people in line hours before they opened.

Rose was #17 in the store. The #1 girl got a free doll-oh well.....she is thrilled with the experience. It was fun, but not something I would run out to do again. |

A t-shirt for the dolls- it's red with stars on it and says "American Girl - Denver"

The book about the doll of the year "Lanie", an activity book and one of the magazines. I did not get out without getting her something-she picked a robe for herself (the same one the Rebecca doll wears), some earrings for her girls and we got a snowpant suit with a sweater and snow boots (that even has little snowflakes in the tread)-we also got her Julie dolls ears pierced and got more earrings with that purchase. |
