				            | The approach I'd have taken is to scan and sort. Scan them in the order you find them but as they come off the scanner put them in order. That way you still only interact with each slide once but end up with both collections (physical and digital) organized. |

				            | We bought a scanner that can be used without connecting it to the computer (it saves the data on a SD card). We did this so that we can scan while watching TV/movies in the living room. Scanning and sorting at the same time would require it be connected to the computer, which would defeat the purpose. Good suggestion though. It's not as bad as i though at first. Most of the slides from a particular date are grouped together. The weird thing is that you'll have, say, 18 slides from May 1966 all together in one box; 12 more all together in a second box; and the remaining 6 scattered randomly in a third.

				            | Then the images on the card would still be out of order. The physical sorting isn't taking that long.

				            | From a conversation about fundamentalist Christians heard in passing: "It's too bad they make a religion out of the book itself instead of what the book is trying to teach us."

| HI! | I took an afternoon nap and had the most incredible steam punk inspired dreams. It would have made a fantastic film. Oh, and there was tap dancing involved. Last edited by Not Afraid : 04-11-2010 at 06:47 PM. |
