The Haunted Mansion: Real-life origins of the building design
Every once in a while, one stumbles across a true, Disney geek-out find on the Internet, and here is one of them!
The writer of the "Disneyland Nomenclature" blog did some research and found photos and information about the real-life building design which inspired Disneyland's Haunted Mansion. The Shipley-Lydecker House, built by Charles Shipley in 1803, was located at 2550 McHenry St. in Baltimore, Maryland, and the owner was Phillip Leydecker.
