No matter how pathetic he looked squinting at the sun, he still didn't get to wear sunglasses.

The thought of one more day of lounging in the sun made Thurston very depressed.

She sought out the one piece of carpet to protect her from the cold floor. Thankfully, it matched her coat.

She despaired at the lack of furniture.

All of his friends seemed fake.
