Is this a football only thing or do all sports at a school have to be part of the same conference?

I don't really follow college sports so I can't find a reason for it to bother me other than that it was really easy to remember who's in it. The U. of X and X State U. for WA, OR, CA, and AZ. Plus the two big CA private schools.

If they don't maintain that pattern I'll never remember who's in.

How about USC getting locked out of Bowl Games for 2 years (plus other sanctions) for recruiting no-no's.

Ironic that the coach and player involved have already moved on to the Pros and won't feel an ounce of pain over the matter.
