I suppose I could come up with some technical uses but they'd all be contrived.

The primary use for more powerful laser pointers is to put dots on things that are far away. Using a standard green laser pointer I was able place a visible "dot" on the tippy top of the Empire State building from two blocks away. This blue one is a few thousand percent more powerful.
