Well, you summed things up so beautifully.

Ok, two weeks after and I've finally started to put things away. I need the big box I stored the Lego Pirate Ships in, so my first task was de-constructing them.

It took a long time, but perhaps a 10th the time it took to re-build them after being stored in their boxes for more than 20 years. As I took them apart and put like pieces in separate zip-locks to make it easier if anyone wants to ever build them again - which takes many hours - I couldn't help but ruminate on the insane level of detail and effort I put into Fifty Five Fifty. I think I'm nuts.

I just realized now that I'm done, I made the oddly ironic choice of putting my birthday-gift Toy Story 1 and 2 blu-ray set on in the background, as I prepare to - what? - put the lego pirate ships back in storage for another 20 years? More likely forever. That's sad.

Hey, I'm glad and surprised I found a second use for them after saving them for 2 decades. But now that I have, I'm completely satisfied with my choice to keep them around. Now, I'm done and they are too cool to go in the attic forever.

If anyone wants them, or know a kid who wants them, or - well - has a kid that might want them in six or seven years after storage your attic (hint, hint, person whom I happily quoted in my el jay re-cap), I'd be more than happy to bestow them upon some happy child or child-at-heart.
