Agreed on the second point for sure. I'm tempted by the idea of seriously low maintenance living but it probably would drive me batsht crazy.

As Alex alludes to, there is a composting chamber pot. Do it where you will, though there is a shower that you could put it in when you're not showering, I suppose.

Summer of 2000, the four of us lived in a tiny garage on a big llama ranch in Wyoming. The garage had been made over into an apartment, complete with composting potty.

The composting potty was really not much different from a regular one. It was bolted to the floor, just like a regular one. Instead of flushing, you cranked the drum handle which rotated the contents into a composting bin under the floor (I think). The composted stuff was accessible from a trap door outside.
