I'm sure San Onofre is a wonderful place to stay, just not high on my list.

Though there is some local sightseeing of giant boobs with flashing nipples (and despite what you might think, the picture is totally safe for work).

San Onofre is great if you like trains going by early in the morning about 20 feet from where you're camping and blowing their loud train whistle. There is also a little issue with critters molesting you while you sleep if you aren't in a tent.

Yeah, the general problem with beach camping is ocean on one side and some modern thoroughfare on the other. Both very close.
