Perhaps if you'd been subjected to the disgusting spectacle of Republican political figures falling all over themselves to avoid praising the Obama administration, you would have realized that "Republican meme" refers to Republican operatives and not necessarily rank-and-file voters, whose idiocy has not been on display in the media.
