Butter and brown sugar is how I'd eat an acorn squash, never thought to try it with a spaghetti squash (which we really do only eat as a spaghetti replacement).

I guess I'll be buying an Xbox 360 Kinect this year. Announced today: Adventures In Disneyland. Very family oriented, but a rather complete virtual Disneyland to hang out in and cyber-hug your favorite characters. Oh, and one other thing.

Spoiler:
A certain sharky LoT member is lucky enough to be involved. Can't say any more, except maybe ... Hee hee hee ...

LasCool, Oh Sharky One!

It just occurred to me tonight that I only have 11 days until I get to see you guys again! Omg! It's been the longest year- not a hard slog like some have had, but not the easiest either. I am sooooooooo looking forward to seeing everyone! I want: to see Lisa and envy her her perkys, to see the pugsleys and kittehs, to talk coasters with Matt and drink some of Chris's killer cocktails, to hopefully see the Utah contingent (it's been a long time!), to have a pool party with whoever wants to invade the Shanaheim, and to talk cars, PNW grunge music and smells with Audreric! I just miss you all so much, and you should know- the Girl had a Powerpoint SLC presentation today with her principal, and she included in the 'Family' section a picture of the LoT Yosemite group, as well as an explanation as to how a 'family' can extend beyond genetic borders.

Last, but not least- Tori has some hugs she wants to give a few people. You know who you are. :-)

Anyway, I don't think I'd ever had beets NOT out of a can before. It was delicious! Much milder sweetness than you usually expect but I actually think that made it tastier. Never cooked beets myself. M-i-l says tiny bit of water and a whole lot of butter.

On the parsnip topic: LOVE parsnips! Peel them, slice in half, bake in the oven and put some kosher or sea salt on them. Ba-da-BING.

I get along so well with one sis-in-law even though our relgious and political views are different.

My other sis-in-law and family though is frikkin nuts. He hated his brother growing up because he's an asshole. I was pretty sure that this was leftover from childhood and he wasn't really. Come to find out the whole family is wacked. While we may share similar religious views (we aren't), we sure don't agree on other things. But we can still have a good discussion on things right? Apparently not. Debates on mandatory drug testing/birth control for those on public assistance has brought out the ?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!11duh - you must be uptight and can't pass a drug test if you don't agree with me.

Why can't we have a discussion on something topical and disagree without someone resorting to name calling? Why must they type in all caps and use 40 or 50 exclamation points per post?

All it did was confirm that my husband is right. (derp - I HAD MY BALLS CUT OPEN, SO CAN THEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!)
