Did the Mayans figure this would be a leap year? If not, will the world really end on December 20? And if so, can you get your hotel deposits for that night back?

They figured the number of days from the start of their calendar, it's incumbent on us, to figure out the leap years and such.

Interestingly, the Mayan's themselves made no special note of the date. No predictions of the end of days, no prophecies of dogs and cats sleeping together, nothing more than we do each December 31st when our calendars roll over.

I think we should start on Thursday night on the 20th (end of the world eve) and carry through to midnight on Friday the 21st. Then sleep all weekend.
