| Virgin Ears | Here's what I want to know, and no one has addressed. What are the differences between this new Season 1 release, and the Time Life DVD's that were out a few years ago? I have that whole set, but short of watching epside by episode, I dont know. Granted, its 15 dvd's and it only has three per dvd... thats obvious. Still, does anyone know?

| I Floop the Pig | The Time Life ones are far from complete, but are rather a collection of the most popular episodes. This is the beginning of a near complete (save for some apparent omissions due to legalities) season-by-season release of the entire series, not just a "best of". Also, this collection has some extras, like on-screen facts and trivia, the the Time Life set lacks.

| You broke your Ramadar! | According to some other reviews, it looks like this set includes some bits that ran on UK TV and not in the US. One more reason to pick this up. I think I'll be hitting CostCo for contact lenses and Muppets this afternoon.

I knew about the extras, which was why I picked up a copy at costco last night. The "pop up video feature" and Karate chop count has me in stitches. I did not realize time life was a best of series. Though I dont know why I missed that fact. Thanks! And Mousepod.. good point on that count too!

So when The Muppet Show came to the US some episodes were edited.

				            | The UK bits were specifically aimed at the English audience, and were edited for US broadcast. Honestly, if you didn't have super scary Muppet geeks pointing out that a few songs have been edited, you wouldn't know it. The set was put together very well and I look forward to future seasons. super scary Muppet geeks NOW we're talking. Great review, Steph. We're pretty lucky here to have great info from both you and Zap......even if it IS about the Muppets. | |
