We were sick pretty much all of December, and into January. What kind of sick cooties you got, Jim? We had the sinus faucet that couldn't be shut off- Tori resorted to just stuffing tissues up her nose to stop the deluge. So wrong- at her age, those tissues need to be stuffed somewhere else!

I just concluded a call that took a while to complete. It was a very simple procedure, but there was about 15 minutes of us just waiting for the process to complete. At the end of the call, this conversation happened.
Caller: Thank you very much for doing that, I know it was hard.
Me: You're welcome, but was just long, it wasn't hard [realizing what just came out of my mouth] That came out weird...
Caller: wooOOOO!
Then she laughed heartily. Which was a relief!

Adding "realizing what just came out of my mouth" does not really help your case here.
