I'm glad no one was hurt. Maybe next time they'll show more class, in keeping with $400-a-night sleeping closets.

How's this for a bit of irony, on Tuesday at around noon, I was making my way back to the Acorns Gifts and Goods shop and was stopped by Dorothy Stratton, the manager of the Grand California Hotel. She was spending her day off with her family and they were going to have their picture in front of the lobby tree. Dorothy had me take the picture so she could join her family in it. Fortunate timing for her. That picture will no doubt be a very memorable one for much more than just a family shot!

I actually have a fake tree but then I'm allergic to pine.
