Yahoo* gets their data from one or more data providers**. It appears they get most of their data from InfoUSA. All data providers are severly outdated. What they do is take phone books, ship them overseas and pay people to type in the information.

* local.google. local.com, yp.com and almost every local search engine out there use data providers** such as Amachai and Acxiom and InfoUSA. There is speculation that they all use the same data and just manage it differently.
