So... I just choked.

I was eating a sliced heirloom tomato with cottage cheese, and I was biting one of the tomato wedges and accidentally bit through the front 10% while the back 90% slipped down my throat and got lodged.

My throat kept spasming so I thought it was going down, but it turns out it wasn't, so I ran into the kitchen where Tom was finishing the asparagus, and I gave him the international "tomato lodged in my throat" symbol. He promptly administered the Heimlich Maneuver (god bless Heimlich-- god bless Tom!) and sent the tomato flying out.

It was very, very surreal. I always thought choking would hurt, but mostly it was slightly confusing and uncomfortable. But damn, that Heimlich works!

LS, I'm so glad you're all right!!!!!!

I've choked a few times and it's very scary. I'm so glad you realised early enough that it wasn't going to move- many people just panic and try to deal with it until it's too late to find someone to help them. Kudos to your man!

Hee hee. No, it only got spit as far as my hand-- so I don't know if it would've gotten much air.

I will say this: it was only about three minutes before I said to Tom, "do you mind if I go call mom... and post at LoT?" He said he knew I was going to say that.

On another note, Looks like a new job for the big B. Good $$ and I start on Monday~! Whoo hooo! I think I'll treat myself to some Ice Cream and the Little Mermaid tomorrow night. (the movie that is!)
