Well...as a follow up to the Mark Twain post...
While taking my son to school we were discussing his schools' upcoming excursion to Disneyland. He is excited as this is a new school and basically all new students; and, he has made a lot of new friends, two that will be going. So, I said 'Oh, wouldn't that be cool if the three of you were able to steer the Mark Twain like you did??' His reply. ![]() 'Ah, no. Let's save that experience for someone who still believes in the magic. Someone who would really believe they are steering.' I laughed. {while he is a curmudgeon, I reckoned what he said to your experience, GC, and well, YOU surely did fit the bill, believing in the magic}. I asked if he remembered meeting you in Monterey and he said yes. I told him you had done just that very same thing yesterday. And, I said, Lisa, the redhead we've met, she did it, too. Now, I think telling him that really made him think. I hope so. I think at that age kids try to be so grown up. I think it may have to do with being conned about the tooth fairy, etc. But, for him to hear that you guys did it, I think it really made him think. He didn't say anything but I was glad to enlighten him that way. I think he thinks we have him do things because kids would like it. No. I have him do things because they are fun. ![]() Okay...enough of that...
