We used tampons to stop nosebleeds in Sports Medicine in high school.

I hate most grocery stores. I love Sunflower Market. You guys have Henry's, which is similar to Sunflower, but much more expensive and less selection. It's like a good cross between Whole Foods and Trader Joes, at lower prices.

I haven't seen a Henry's anywhere up here, only in San Diego, and I can't say I really dug the place. Just a little too granola for my taste

TJ's is very good for some things, mediocre for others, and really not good at all for still other things, at least on my shopping list. (I hate Hansens.) We go there often to pick up fun goodies, but the bulk of my shop is Standard Supermarket Fare.

There's one down the street from my work. I went in once and was disappointed in their selection of ready-to-eat lunch stuff, so it was back to TJ.

On Yorba Linda Blvd. specifically. About 1/2 mile west of Imperial.

AND they have Broguiere's milk - it comes in GLASS bottles and is the best milk you will ever have. That, and Broguiere's is a small, local (Montebello) dairy.

And if you want to experience chocolate milk nirvana, get a bottle of their chocolate milk. Expensive, but well worth the experience.

Also at Henry's: tons of items (including the usual nuts and wheat and chocolates and raisins) in bulk that are very inexpensive. I usually get a pound or two of sunflower seeds when I go in.

I pretty much apply the same goals to grocery shopping as every other kind of shopping. If it can be done in less than 5 minutes that is the ideal.

So I go to the store that is closest (though I actively dislike TJ's so I don't go there for any reason). I buy the first version of what I'm looking for that I see. I go to the shortest line. I don't comparison shop prices once in the store (though I do give Albertson's, equidistant to Safeway a slight edge for cheaper chicken). I don't use coupons. I only use the loyalty card because they were able to get one into my hands without slowing me down.

I think this method of shopping will, by the time I die, have added about 43 weeks to my functional lifespan. It costs more, but that is why god made money and gave me enough of it. I loves me some god.
