I have no problem with small living quarters so long as I am really only at home to sleep and clean. If you're actually going to spend any real time in one it doesn't appeal at all.
I was fine with splitting 200 sq ft between 3 people back when it was my dorm room, but I was only in it is for a couple waking hours a day. Essentially these are very small camper trailers with rustic exteriors. What's odd is that most people I know who say they'd consider living in one of these scoff at me when I've said I wouldn't mind going on the road permanently with a van conversion like a RoadTrek. But until then, for a movement that's based in minimizing impact I'll say no. I live in 630 sq. ft. when I could accord 3500. I spend 3 hours a day commuting on foot and BART when I could afford doing it in a Hummer fueled by baby fur seal fat. We moved to the world's most boring suburb so that we'd pollute less with commuting (it became possible for both of us to commute without a car). I figure I'm doing my share until everybody else catches up. Living in a country kitsch mailbox and having to process my own **** is not high on my lust list. |

As Alex alludes to, there is a composting chamber pot. Do it where you will, though there is a shower that you could put it in when you're not showering, I suppose.

HI!
|
I love looking at Tiny Houses. I even have the Tiny House Book. But, my house is about as tiny as I'd like (and I can't keep up with it!).

I only want a tiny house if I can attach it as the basket of a zeppelin.

The composting potty was really not much different from a regular one. It was bolted to the floor, just like a regular one. Instead of flushing, you cranked the drum handle which rotated the contents into a composting bin under the floor (I think). The composted stuff was accessible from a trap door outside.
