It's been quite a while since we've heard from you. The last time I think I saw you was when we saw Whose Line at DCA, with my wife in the wheelchair. (The show is comming back to TV in a few weeks, BTW).

I wish the best for you and Reo! Good luck with the re-locating! And please let us know how it goes, and keep in touch!

No offense taken at all. All I've ever wanted is for you to be happy, and hopefull to find that happiness in love.

(And I remember you seeing yourself living in Las Vegas for a while, but I guess that's sorta SoCal-adjacent)

I'm team Reo now, and if that means Seattle, so be it.

I have friends that live in the Queen Ann hill neighborhood and they love it. I know others who live in lofts in Seattle and love it. Although lofts are a strange concept to me, some oftheir places are amazing!

There is a lot to do and see in seattle and vancouver BC. Youshould really take a trip up to Victoria too.

Good luck to you and don't be a stranger around here.

My Seattle living experience is dated at this point so no real advice.

It is a relatively easy public transit commuting city (the bus tunnels remain one of my favorite things ever) so if your recreational habits will take out out of town more than downtown I'd say don't rule out the north or south suburbs (do not go east unless you work over there).

Queen Ann Hill is a very nice neighborhood, but I have no idea what kind of urban environment you prefer. Personally I like something a little bit grittier.

Seattle is fantastic. I think you'll love it. You can pretty much walk everywhere, and anywhere you don't want to walk you just take the buses or lightrail with your ORCA card. The weather can be cold and rainy, but it can also be 60's-70's and quite beautiful. Even if you live in West Seattle or Beacon Hill or the U District, downtown is just a short bus trip away. For busing, get the One Bus Away app. It tells you if the bus you are waiting for is on time or if it is delayed and for how long. Invaluable! If it's late and buses aren't running and you need a cab, use Uber instead. You can see where all there cars are on the app (black towncars), and how long it will take for them to get you. You set everything up on the app and pay before you get in. They txt or call when they are close by and it's no hassle. Capitol Hill is the gay area. Tons of great bars and restaurants. Q is the newest gay club in the area- it's 2 floors and pretty nice inside, and the outside is super neon. Lots of drag brunches and stuff in that area as well. Pho is everywhere, as well as sushi. Those are really popular foods in Seattle. Westlake Center is in downtown and it seems to be the place where people tend to meet up to go other places from. That's probably because the downtown transit tunnel (bus and lightrail stop) goes right under there, and you can get directly to and from the airport on the lightrail for $2.75 each way. You can find places to live all over for pretty decent prices. As long as you don't live in a far far north or south suburb or across Lake Washington in Bellevue or Kirkland, public transit is much easier to take than driving your car. Parking can be prohibitively expensive (and a bitch to find) in downtown proper, though there are some metered spots that are more reasonable.

Hopefully some of that is helpful... Be well.

The Wells Fargo Dealer Services Seattle Regional Business Center is in Kent and Reo is currently in Federal Way, in his old family home with his sister . I'm definitely taking my car. Reo drove his 19 hours up the 5. I will probably do the same. So I probably won't need public transit.

Reo is not into any gay scenes, so I doubt either of us will be hitting up any gay themed areas, even if accommodating.

How does Seattle downtown parking compare to Los Angeles downtown parking, or are they similar ? I know parking in LA can be annoying.

Parking in downtown can be a bitch... I usually park by Cal Anderson Park and walk or bus to wherever I need to go. It's metered, but not too bad and usually easy to find a spot. The garages downtown are rape.

What about the suburbs ("rainy versions of Irvine") ?
Which are good and which are bad ?
