The Art of Syd Mead

I was chatting online with Nick; an artist friend of mine. He mentioned that he had just met Syd Mead the other night. I was jealous. I love Mead's work. I always felt cheated that I'm not able to live in his shiny sensuous vision of the future.

About 20 years ago, I had a copy of his book Sentinel. I lent it to a friend and never got it back (he disappeared right after that). It had been an expensive gift, and I never tried to replace it.

While Nick and I were chatting, I decided to look and see if it was available. I found that it has been out of print for years. I found a few copies online for $500-$600. Too pricey for me. Then I looked on Ebay. there was a copy in good condition for $150 - and it was a "Buy it Now"!

Needless to say, my new copy of Sentinel should arrive soon.
