Star Wars screening room
I know that some people go overboard when they're building their home screening rooms. And then there's this.

Reminds me of Star Tours.

It's very rad. But as a pretty avid fan of those movies, I don't see what's particularly StarWarsian about it. It looks generic sci-fi, and that's really awesome-looking. But I'm not seeing anything particularly StarWars.
It kinda looks StarToursy. Is that what they were going for, perhaps? |

Question: Does one feel stupid watching Howards End in there? Or does someone with that much excess time and money just have a different screening room for each genre?

It looks like the house has displays all over, and Howard's End would be watched on the veranda. The Star Tours theater can be reserved for sci-fi only, I would assume.

The best themed home theater I've ever been in, was at a friends house in Sherman Oaks - it was designed to resemble a 1920s movie palace, including a multiple reveal curtain and organ pipes (which cleverly hid the speakers).
The adjoining room acted as a lobby, and featured a candy display cabinet, popcorn popper and soda fountain. The magic room, where all the amps, processors and source material could be found, was behind a hidden panel in the main room. |

I think we need to themicize mousepod's home theater, where so many of us view films. If we had a fairly large budget, what would you, the people of LoT, like it to be?
(Part of the money must be set aside to build the water slide from the top deck to the as-yet-unbuilt pool on the lower hillside, but the rest is available for the theater.) |

I'm actually in the process of building out my theater room now. After much discussion among the family members we decided to go with an early 21st century suburban home theme. It's secretly ironic.

I'd throw some cash into a Casa Chihuahua Theater fund but seeing as how we are unable to hang out for a movie any time soon, I'm going to withhold my contribution for a few years.
