Work of Art 2

Another season of Work of Art! Love this show!! I don't know why it gets me so excited but I just adore it. They've got a nice varied group and already I'm wonderfully surprised at some of the works.

I am down for challenge inspired projects. This week involved turning kitschy art into real art. I've got some kitsch right at hand so I'm going for it. Will post when I'm done.

Anyone else?

Need a definition that distinguishes kitschy art from real art. Are the producers of kitsch art aware they are not producing real art?

Art is a subjective term anyway. I've seen plenty of art that people seem to love, that looks more like trash to me. But that's ok, if they like it that's fine.

I think the best kind of kitcsh is the unintentional art of the 50's and 60's, mostly advertising.

I went ahead and bought the season on itunes & we watched the first episode. Kinda sad the the cute Frenchman went so quickly, but I think he pretty much showed the extent of his talents - eh well. I'm amused by Sucklord, I hope he hangs on for a time.

I'm happy the show is on again. But, really, did they have to get rid of the eye candy? (Yes, it is ironic that, in a show about art, I'm focused on the French guy.)
