"Pirates" Scene Irks Natives

I tend to get a little upset at the people who throw fits- it's Hollywood, of course it doesn't resemble real life! Hollyweird goes for effect- *not* realism.

"We aren't cannibals." Yep, got that. I'm sure it makes a good scene though.

1. The gag in the scene sounds tired - shish kebab? Please.
2. Why not show some goodwill and understanding to your fellow man by removing the scene? It's a negative perception. Replace it with something funnier.

Well, it was funny when Bugs Bunny did it.

I think that explains why there's only 3500 of them left. You know, if the Caribs were really serious about improving their image, they should be forthcoming and finally publish the recipe.

But did you hear of any Pirates in the first movie who were portayed as the walking dead getting all bent out of shape for being shown that way or the walking dead getting pissy about being portrayed as pirates?

It's not reality or a documentary or a biography about their tribe or people...move on and get a life....

Well, it's not actually the Caribs who are bugged, just Chief Williams. He was over-ruled in a tribal vote, his fellow tribe members recognizing the need for employment and the fictionality of the "Pelegosto" tribe depicted in the film.

I did like the term "spit spat."

Get it? It's a spat. About a spit. Get it?

Yeah... this story belongs in the "get a sense of humor" file.

Call me insensitive, but I dig "Gunga Din" and the Indiana Jones movies too.
