The Day of the Doctor (Spoilers!)
I watched the "Day Of the Doctor".
I seem to find myself in the minority of not really being that impressed by it. The Doctor doubling, tripling, 13x'ing his own timeline? That's not right. Weaseling out of making his big decision? That's worse than Kirk's solution to the Kobayashi Maru. Zygons? That entire plot line seemed superfluous to the already constrained narrative.

I agree the Zygons were unnecessary. I agree he should have made his decision but on the other hand, he saved the planet! The multiplication of himself and his machine... no problem. You take the guy out of time, he has his ship with him. It doesn't disappear from his "present" reality. It's the same thing they did with the sonic screwdriver. It replicated with each, too.
I did like the thing where the interface took Rose's form. I liked the interface much better than I ever liked Rose as a character. Loved all the little details/easter eggs. Lots of fun.

Just my perspective. If there's one thing we can all reserve the right to do, it's judge Doctor Who. And if the signals they're throwing out come true, the show is going to change a lot, and the Smith fans are going to do a lot of grumbling. One can hope anyway ![]()

Hey, hey! Smith fan here!
I have to say that I'm a Tenant fan as well, though. I'm sad to see him go, but excited about what is next. Long live the Doctor! ![]() I have to say, however, that the Smith and Tenant team worked off of each other pretty well. And with John Hurt mixed in I was quite entertained myself!

Actually, strike that, as I love Matt Smith. He's fantastic. More specifically, fans of the direction that the Doctor's character has taken may have to deal with a new (old?) paradigm.

I've only been watching for about two years now, and have gone back and watched the others of the modern show on DVD. So this will be the first time as a fan that I will have lived through a doctor regeneration.
And I've watched the specials on BBC America on the doctors 1 through 8 to get an idea of what they were like. But, to some degree, haven't the audience had to go through such a paradigm in the past? there have been doctors of differing ages and styles in the past. So I'm viewing this as just part of the way it's always been, except I get to see it first hand. And I'm witholding opinion untill I see it, and have given Peter a chance to prove himself.
