The Vandals @ OC fair

Did anyone catch the Vandals @ the OC fair? Thursday night the Vandals opened for the celtic/punk band 'Flogging Molly' Thursday night at the OC Fair (Pacific Amp.). The GOOD: the Vandals played a lot of their old stuff. The BAD: unfortunately, the Vandals played some of their new stuff. The UGLY: the opening band 'Goldfinger' and 'Flogging Molly' (a.k.a. a poor man's Pogues), was very forgetable.

Aww, I've seen a couple of great performances of Flogging Molly at the House of Blues, sorry to hear they didn't deliver.

Flogging Molly? I think its time we call an end to all band/film names that consist of an adjective and a name. Enough all ready! It is so f'in tiresome. Walk the new release section of any video store and you'lll see at least 50 examples of this trend. And now its apparently seeping into band names ... Ugh.

I, too, have had lots of fun with FM lately. No, they're not the Pogues, but at least their singer isn't hald dead.

I haven't seen the Vandals since SteveO was their singer. (I used to hand with SteveO at the Wannabe Manor. I was "dating" his roommate.)

it should be noted that Flogging Molly did finish strong...maybe they had jetlag and it took a while for them to crank it up. I'd give'm another shot at a smaller venue...not an outdoor arena like the PacAmp...i was never into those kind of venues.

I saw Flogging Molly in concert three years ago, and thought they gave a really strong performance, and I've been wanting to see them again ever since...

I also saw The Vandals about nine years ago & loved their performance, too.
