Discount shopping sites

I had a look at FatWallet.com today. There's an "animated tour" that I found very informative. I don't do a whole lot of shopping online, but I figure this might be a cool way to do it. I went and gave the rules and regulations a scan and found this interesting quirk.

The appropriate FatWallet Cash Back rebate will be posted to your account as "Reported" within thirty (30) days of the date on which a Participating Merchant reports your transaction to FatWallet.com. For a period of ninety one (91) to one hundred twenty one (121) days thereafter, your account will refer to the FatWallet Cash Back rebate as "Pending." This time period is in accordance with the Participating Merchant's right to reverse a transaction for return purposes. Once the participating merchant authorizes the payment of FatWallet.com's commission in connection with a qualifying purchase made by you, we will credit your account with the applicable FatWallet Cash Back.

In other words, you won't get the cashback until 3-5 months after your purchase. Seems they're gambling that you'll forget to come back and redeem it.

It's still a pretty good site even if you don't redeem your cashback, as it has links for newest/most popular/expiring deals, and they seem to have all the big sites from across the board.

Does anyone here use a discount/comparitive shopping site?

I will do comparative shopping on particular items myself but I never use comparative shopping sites. I always look at things such a shipping costs as well. Fo shoes, Zappos usually has fairly competitive prices and good selection but rarely has sales, but they always have free shipping and they're fast. All of these things factor in to a purchase decision.

My husband likes a site named Bens Bargins. You'd have to google it. He got $200 worth of Ohama steaks for $65. He loves it and will tell me if he sees any good discount. I have seen it once or twice, but I don't remember if the actual web address is Bensbargins.com. I don't think it is too organized, but if I remember right they posted daily finds and then you can tab to different sections like "coupons" and such.

They also have a pretty nice return policy.

Zappos will also price match. If you find a lower price anywhere online they will beat it by 10%. I love zappos. Fast shipping too.

I go nuts when my favorite stores do free shipping. Lately I haven't had enough time to actually go to a physical store, so I place a big order of things I might like, try them on at home where I get to try them on with outfits/shoes as applicable, and then have Ryan return the rest while I'm in class.

Tomorrow I might go to some actual STORES!

As for discount sites, my brother swears by buy.com.

When it's a brand of shoes you already know well, it's not such a big deal. I've ordered Danskos online before--the sole is pretty much the same on all of them, so they fit as expected. (I do, however, appreciate giving a local-owned shoe store my business.)

I order stuff from LLBean. I've bought like 10 of the same shirt from them--no need to try it on again. And their return policy isn't bad; I returned a top from them a few weeks ago no problem.

I guess I don't loyally shop anywhere. I don't rebuy the same clothing, I want things that are different. I don't buy much in shoes either.

Kohls is the closest I've come to loyalty shopping but I can't say I know which brands work in which sizes for me.
