Dole Whip v. Kaki-Gori
You all know Dole Whip. (Mmmmm . . . Dole Whip . . . *drool*)
Some of you know the joy that is Kaki-Gori. It's the best hoity-toity Japanese snow cone ever. It's refreshing and bought (and thus, consumed) in the beautiful Japan pavillion at EPCOT. The question is, which is better? Is there really a cold theme-park dessert that's better than a Dole Whip? I'll let others weigh in first . . . |

HI!

First of all, I can't believe there is something that is giving your beloved Dole Whips a run for it's money! I thought they were unbeatable.
Sadly, I can't compare Dole Whips to this kaka-gory you speak of. We had nothing of the sort at the Japanese Pavilion. The closest we got is to Chris having saki (which he seemed to enjoy which is why the cup is still on his desk) and I bought some wonderfully fizzy Japanese candy. But, I do not know of this Kaka-Gory. |

I may be having an invented memory(you know, where you kinda remember something, then you remember more after prompting, even if the more is not true) but I think I had this on a trip I took to EPCOT back in 1990....I remember enjoying it, but the memory is so fuzzy I could not comment on whether or not it was better then Dole Whips.

Better than a dole whip? I think that at least requires chocolate of some sort - but I haven't had the other so cannot comment on this discussion other than to express my astonishment.

Kaki-Gori is no ordinary snowcone. Ask Flippyshark--he had a snowcone the other day and said it was awful. Kaki-Gori, on the other hand, is divine.
And you don't have to listen to the current MK Adventureland music loop while eating it. Oh, and the Kaki-Gori lady is always really nice. Not so at the Dole stand. |

My Vote is for KAKI-GORI!!! Although I like Dole whip alot. The MK used to have a Rasberry Whip that I liked as much or more as the Dole whip. Adventureland at the MK also has a citrus whip. That's also good.
For me, the perfect Kaki-gori is made with half Tangerine and half Melon syrup. Yum! |

I can't believe out of all of my trips to the park, I've never had a Dole Whip. I can't wait for them to open up again so I can finally see what the fuss is about.
