The Grub
I had a "Tea Time" which was a choice of two half-sandwiches (chicken salad and brie & tomato), house romaine salad, fruit, scone or tea cookie (scone).

The Scene
I was heading down to run some errands and found this little place tucked on Bush Street between Van Ness and Polk. Housed in an old store front, Leland Tea Company is a quirky and nice little spot to find in the Polk Gulch neighborhood.

A varied menu offers a nice selection of goodies and the best part is, everything is made fresh to order (sandwiches) and the cookies and scones are baked on the premises. They have a wide variety of organic teas and some of their own blends. I had a tea called "kisses" one smell and I knew I had to try it, the tea was blended with Scharffenberger cocoa nibs, it was like drinking a hot chocolate. Tres yummy, I brought a tin of it to bring home.

Great 1920's 1930's salon music plays in the background and art deco accents all over the place (hand painted on the walls, etc.) Nils Asther and Joan Crawford grace the bathroon door and a swanky lady is painted on the wall of the loo. The rest of the furnishings and decor are a mix of victorian/French found art, it all works.

I sat in the window seat and was warmed by the sun and the tea. It was a lovely stop and I'll be doing it again.
