Barry Bonds - This is your brain on drugs

OK - I'm not a baseball fan, but I couldn't escape the press conference Barry Bonds had here in Scottsdale AZ when he arrived at training camp.

I honestly do not think he is sane.

In the same press conference, me managed to say his love affair with baseball was over, and also that he wants to stop talking about steroids so he can play the game he loves.

When asked about Canseco's book, all he could do was say how much better of a player he is than Canseco.

He even played the race card is a really weird way - he said that Babe Ruth wasn't black, so he didn't get as much scrutiny. Ummm....didn't Hank Aaron break Babe Ruth's HR record without being accused of using steroids? Also, were steroids available when Babe Ruth was playing? Did Babe Ruth put on 40 lbs of muscle in about a year?

This is just some of the weird, weird stuff said.

Honestly, whether you think steroids are an issue or not, or if he uses or not, the man is clearly not sane.

The few times I've seen Bonds in an interview, he either sounded a) like a total egotist jerk, or b) like a complete idiot. He's the least likable guy in sports.

Too bad he's so good.

I think that he is probably sane, although some of the statements may defy logic. Rather, I think he is just completely full of himself. Can't stand the guy. Damn good player though.
