OK. Now that's Disney has made it pretty darn clear that there'll be a hard ticket event on the "official" 50th see here for details, what do you all think they're going to do? What do you guess the cost will be? How limited an event will it be?

No prizes for correct guesses - except perhaps a salute from your fellow LoT'ers

50 hours at the park - I'm there, to ride every attraction in chronological order. The Geek Quest is on!

I think this is merely going to be a tour. Judging by the description posted, it would make the most sense & explain why TDA didn't want Jim Hill to give one of his own tours currently.

I doubt this will be a separate ticket required to enter the park. The day of the actual anniversary will probably be like New Years Eve or the 3 days after Christmas; the park will reach maximum capacity & ticket sales will be suspended.

That's my guess.

I'm guessing it will focus on opening the secret chamber under the Matterhorn and unfreezing Walt followed by dancing the night away up in his retro apartment with Mr. Lincoln. Sorry I won't be able to make it.

arrive early (to wait for bag check to open) and plan to stay the entire day.

the resort anticipates the demand to be overwhelming, therefore, NO GUEST, including reosrt hotel guests are guaranteed admission. also, if you exit the park, there is no guarantee of re-admission.

We have early admission, as we booked through WDT. I wonder if that will be any sort of advantage in getting into the park, or if they will even honor it on the 17th? I've never used it before, as I hate getting up early, but it may come in handy this time around.

I am inclined to think, or hope, that €uro is correct. If they do, does anyone have a guess as to what the ticket might cost?

early entry is only offered on mondays, tuesdays, thursdays and saturdays. as the 17th falls on a sunday this year, the early entry will not be of help. sorry about that. but, they are serious about the advisory i mentioned. so plan to arrive early and stay all day with no guarantee of entry or re-entry.

So, this is basicially the same event for a 3 day period? That is, three separate days of the same event?

Exactly my guess, too, for some sort of special/expanded "Walk in Walt's Footsteps/What it was like in 1955" tour.

Of course, you can pretty much guarantee some type of high-priced admission for yet another merchandise event. The cynic in me is not expecting anything too special--their track record has shown that "special events" are just words to describe an opportunity to buy expensive merchandise.
