Super cheap netbook on Woot today

Because you've always wanted an extra laptop to replace those pesky books on your bathroom counter...

Woot.com has a $150 Netbook today. Or if 4gb of storage and a linux OS aren't your thing, go to http://tinyurl.com/dkzd67 for the sellout.woot version which is $180, comes with XP and an 8gb solid state hard drive.

If I had $150 to spare, I'd totally get one as a "travel" computer (and leave my heavy laptop home by my chair!)

I don't mind Linux at all for a Netbook/appliance type machine, but the tiny storage on the smaller model is turning me off. On the other hand, I really don't need Yet Another XP Home product key (since I'd immediately wipe the larger model and put Ubuntu on it). What to do... what to do...

I wonder if the 4GB model can be upgraded, and if it's worth doing so or should I just blow off the Microsoft tax and get the 8GB model.

On the third hand, I have a four-year old Dell Inspiron 600m sitting around doing nothing. Maybe I'll just use that.

The XP model has an 8gb solid state drive. Seems worth an extra $30 to me.

I have an Acer Aspire One netbook with an 8GB had drive, expandable to 12 by putting a 4GB SD card into one of its two card slots. I love it! (But it cost 325 USD - more than twice the woot deal.) i'm very happy with my Acer - and the Asus looks adorable as well.
