I once sh*t lightning after eating an Indian meal of tandoori chicken, but that's a whole different story..

ICK.

That story actually scared the daylights out of me. Lightning once struck our neighbor's home across the street years ago when I was living at home. I was in college at the time and studying, and suddenly I heard a deafening crash. The light that flashed through my closed window blinds was actually, well blinding.

When I ran outside, the street was SMOKING. The neighbor's palm tree was on fire. And everybody on the block's computers & TV's were SHOT. Our bigscreen was operable, but now with a lovely tinted green screen. We all lost power, and maybe our minds a little that night. THANK GOD, however, that the most important thing of all occured- nobody was struck.

Yeah, it can be pretty amazing. I once had lightning strike ground about 30 feet away from me and a group of friends. It is pretty amazing that close.
