How cool. I don't see why it wouldn't/couldn't be real. It's basically the same concept as the sliding door of a minivan, but it slides in a differnet direction. As long as you didn't drive with the door open I think it would work. Would make for some low clearance. My major question about it would be safety. How heavy and reinforced could that door be?

Supposedly they engineered this because the door was so big and heavy that they didn't want drivers to have to swing the thing back and forth. What bugs me right off is the lack of armrest - it seems so weird. The fact that the one door isn't working is not surprising, as that's a lot to keep going, and since it's a concept you can't exactly take it to your local 76 station for repair.
But wow, is that awesome.
