I got a very nice 14 mile recovery ride today and feel quite grand, thank you!

Got some errands done and I haven't even needed ibuprofen today. I might take some for my back later but that was hurting for a while now, even before the big ride.

Just met with my new boss for the first time.

I'm not fired.

In fact, I'm getting a minion....er....direct report.

And a much more impressive title.

But, no raise to go with the title.

Status goes with having a minion, so maybe you can negotiate a raise later. Impressive title also counts for a lot.

Congratulations on your new acquisitions! Let's hope your compensation mirrors the increase soon.

Yes, lots of overnights. At least the houses all have AC and one has a fabulous pool!

Eh, it's a state job, so I'm not likely to get a raise, now or later. My scope of "ultimate responsibility" is expanding quite a bit (the new minion will also take over payroll, so I'll be ultimately responsible for that, too.) But, it sounds more impressive on my resume, and at this point I need to look as impressive as possible as I look for post-graduation work.
