I'm wondering about my self imposed dry spell. And I'm shaking my head at it.

I'm wondering about pseudonyms. I want to write books and poetry for children. And I want to write short stories and fiction for young-adults and adults. But, and some of you are already well aware of this, I tend to write about things that aren’t suitable for children and I don’t really want my writing for adults to be associated with what I’d be writing for kids. It’s the Lemony Snicket / Daniel Handler conundrum. Sure, even his kids books are a bit dark and twisted, but in a way that’s totally wonderful, witty and appropriate.

His book Watch Your Mouth is an operatic exercise in incest intrigue and pornography. Sort of. Understandable that he’d not want Daniel Handler beneath his A Series of Unfortunate Events. Of course, the pseudonym may have had less to do with modesty and more to do with his desire to be clever and have Snicket be an actual character in A Series of...’.

Anyhoo, I’m wondering what you guys think. If you were writing for kids, and writing for adults, and you wanted to use pseudonyms, would you want your real name attached to the adult works, or the kids? Seems like it would be more fun to get creative about coming up with an author’s name that kids’ would think super duper fun and strange.

Also wondering if any of this is necessary, as there are plenty of authors who write for adults and for kids, and just have the one name. But I love coming up with fun names!

Wondering if visual artists ever do this. Painters are sometimes accused of not being focused if they exhibit artwork that is varied in style. One could avoid this silly criticism if one simply submitted different styles of art work with different names. Tricky tricksters.

I’m also wondering what I’m going to do this weekend with no plans, little cash, and a desire to do something fun and social.

I wonder why I have seen Ally at least twice but we have never met?

I wonder if I will actually get to see anyone this weekend since the people I really want to see are playing Invitational?

(I wonder if I should tell anyone that I'm bringing the 'One that Got Away' to MA?)

And to Eliza... I'd be tempted to use the pen name on the children's books. Something easy to remember... thats what I'd do.
And yes, I would totally have two names! I love discovering years later that two people were one in the same!

I wonder if my wife thought it was a line(that I thought she was sexy pregnant)

I wonder why I'm perfectly fine posting on other non-disney related boards, to the tune of 1,000+ post counts, but never feel up to snuff to post amongst the swanky posters here

I wonder if the wit and style of this community is too intimidating for me

I wonder if I have an inferiority complex

I wonder if I have low self esteem

I wonder if, like Ally, I am just painfully shy

I wonder if I'm afraid I will sound ignorant...or ill-informed...or just plain stupid

I wonder if I AM ignorant, ill-informed, or just plain stupid!

I wonder if anyone at LoT thinks I'm creepy because I lurk ALOT but hardly ever post

I wonder if I sound whinny right about now

I wonder if anyone realizes its threads like this that keep me lurking so faithfully, and laughing so hysterically

I wonder if I will cringe as I hit submit reply...no, I'm pretty sure I will

Very carefully? We have both a Tinky Winky doll (the talking one that says, "again again" but sounds like "I'm gay I'm gay!") and a SpongeBob, so I'll experiment with them a little later. Right now I'm busy wiping spit off my monitor!!!

I wonder why DwoernAdale thinks he's not swanky enough for us. We're just a bunch of dorks with a swanky front, is all.

Eliza - Roald Dahl did it. Adult books with adult themes, kids books galore, both with his real name on the cover. It's not unheard of. Me, I'd totally go with a pseudonym, just because Dr. Seuss' story tickles me. He used the pseudonym because he thought one day he'd write "real" books for adults, so he was saving his real name for that. Funny.

I always thought I'd go with the last name "Carroll" as an homage to Lewis Carroll - and then, my books would be right next to Alice on the shelves of children's libraries everywhere. *dreamy sigh*

I'm thinking my sexcapades last night were due to the 1-2-3 punch of too much wine, Simon LeBon's ass, and my guy-that-got-away's eyes. I'm thinking my husband won't like that last reason....but um, I think as long as I "throw some his way" he's all right.

I wonder how I can make it easier to type while licking Portia's SLUT right off that shirt? As you can see, I've already licked the S off.....now I'm just working on the LUT.
