- Oh, qualified, vaguely positive reply.

- Uninspired description of movie and subsequent conversation with girlfriend.

- Ooh, really well-rehearsed speech about workload and stress.

- Genuine sorrow.

- Um, truthful-sounding promises of future satisfaction?

- Enticement to agree?

- Accepted.

- Gratitude.
