There wasn't enough fire at our wedding...

We'll have to do something about that when we renew our vows.

If you can do it in a way that they won't find out (Pirates with a full boat), go for it! How cool would it be to do I DOOOOOOOOO down the 2nd drop?
That's exactly the point- there would be nothing to stop.

But myself, I guess I am a bit of a romantic. I would want the wedding to be something more meaningful with my partner than being about a rush-rush sneaky thing in a theme park; especially since he is not as big of a fan as you (if at all). I say stick with one of the non-cheesy options in Vegas.
He's a fan- though not as big as I- certainly. The options are still being discussed. We want something different and fun- what that is we don't know.

And I wonder if I am the only male who is in favor of a big wedding: I want to celebrate such a milestone in our lives with a lot of people. Not to the point of going deep in debt, but I would have preferred something more than what did ($ was the issue - we had a great party planned for about 200 people).
The thought of a big event-the money, the time, the planning, the effort, the stress-makes me sick. I don't want to do it- and neither does he- well, not as much as he used to. The big problem is- he is clueless on planning it- and I don't want to- so we go nowhere with it.

The thought right now is to have the "ceremony" part of it be tiny and mostly private (if not all private)- and then have a reception with everyone at home- friends, family etc- later- without feeling like performing monkey's for everyone benefit.

I don't know why- but I do not want to have a wedding with a bunch of people-and it is both money and some sort of personal reasons- I guess.

hello all.

My 2 cents.

Yes i was for a big wedding at one point. so kevy no you are not the only male who wants a big wedding. But however my view changed as I realized that a traditional route is not for me, or us for that matter.

She brought up the star trek expiernce and the geek in me went nuts. And well being as we are "rogues". It seems fitting that we do a rogue wedding. even more so that we do it on potc. yes i have alil concern about the proceddings getting stopped but if we take over the ride. I dont see how they can stop us. I had never even thought of doing it ON potc. tell now that is. it sounds like an awesome idea.

Getting married in Vegas-

Well it is your wedding day but you will have to look back afterwards and be happy with it. For me a ceremony aboard POTC is not what i would have wanted but hey it's your day.

CM and i were gonna hold it on Superman at Magic Mountain since we met there but decided against it and went with Vegas and glad we did.

He did want close family and friends so a little ceremony of sorts. The best part a Pirate came down from the mast with our wedding rings. That was the best part of the whole ceremony. Really made me smile...

Weddings cost money and time to plan. But if you want to get married in Vegas you can go as cheap as you want to go. And getting your marriage license is easy you just bring your birth certificates and pay a fee no blood test nothing...you get your license in no time...

MMG: your wedding was cool.

Jupiter: Welcome!

Nephy and Jupiter: You know, if the POTC thing makes you too nervous, why not just have a beach bonfire and have someone marry you right on the sand?

You really can get married anywhere you want, as long as you don't have a crowd. What place "speaks" to both of you? A cliff overlooking the Pacific? Pirates? A pretty garden? It's not hard and it doesn't have to cost money.

Not nervous- on POTC no one would know.

Another voice here...If simple is the key and different is the view...you guys do realize that to be legally married in Cali it takes a simple yes from each party to a simple question of do you take this person to be your spouse. All the extra words are to make the ceremony longer for the guests. My brother is licesnsed to wed folks here in California so I double checked with him before posting to ask him if the PoTC idea would work and he said that Disney couldn't stop it if they tried if the two being married were comfortable with 'forgoing' a wordy ceremony and the person officiating was willing to forgo the wordy ceremony. The officiant has to ask each participant if they want to marry the other and has to have an official reply (I found out it doesn't even have to be verbal it can be in sign language how cool is that?) and he can declare them wed...as for the paperwork, the state requires 2 witnesses based on the seating in PoTC if the officiant sits in the front seat with the wedding couple, the row directly behind them can lean forward to hear the question and responses and legally swear to the union...it's a done deal and no 'bad show' for Disney to complain about.

That just gave me a fun idea.

Set up a huge lavish wedding in a church with all of the trimmings, processionals, etc. Then have the entire ceremony be just the requisite questions, then turn and have the big recessional.
