and the purple drape? I'm was of the opinion that the Muppet scalp was there to hide her VERY ample bosom which I can no longer find a picture of.

Okay, I had to go back and look at Helen Mirren's dress. At first, the sleeves threw me off as well, but the more I looked (I loved the rest of the dress - especially the sweeping pleats), the more I grew to love the sleeves as well.
