Oops on the looking down bit on the part of the director...but I always thought they "cued" not "queued."

Regarding the "green disaster" dress... it kinda reminds me of something you'd see on the stage at Wicked. It's got that whole Emerald City asymmetry thing going.

Ditto. It's pretty rare that I see more than a few of the nominated films in general (they just tend to not be the kinds of films at the top of my list to see). This year, Juno and Ratatouille were the only two nominated films I've seen. That's abnormal. Especially since there were several that I actively wanted to see (No Country, Charlie Wilson's are the first two that come to mind).

Well, I saw almost all of the significant ones but we did all our talking about them before the awards so there doesn't seem to be much more to say on those topics.

I thought this year, even though I didn't see everything, was prob the most well deserved year in a long, long time. For the most part I think what won was what should have IMHO. (Minus the F**king shorts)

Oh, this was the first time I'd seen the finalists for the Dove commercial.

T's was better than either of those. They were both good, but T's was better. Left me wondering if maybe hers was too good, that the judges favored ones that were good but still had an amateur feel to them.

Yeah, those Dove commercials sucked.

Oh, and I realized that the only majorly nommed film I haven't yet seen, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, was shut out - despite many nominations. I'm still gonna see it. Word is it's great.

Ok, the reviewer in Variety who was at the Kodak said "That's How You Know" played wonderfully live. My sister, who attended the rehearsal, said it was terrific live, but - looking at the overhead screens - predicted it would be awful on TV. She was right. But I'm willing to give the bloated production number the benefit of the doubt, since it just may have somehow been fantastic in person.

I blame it on the cinammontography.
