I know that Disney has been anxious to bring the success of their WDW triathlons to California, but the swim portion has been a huge obstacle. I don't see that they've done anything to remedy it, nor do they really have the time to do any kind of fix. I'd be willing to give it a try sometime, but until I see how they pull this one off - I'll have to pass.

A big difference from 2.4 mile ocean swim, 110 mile bike and 26.2 marathon. (Kona)

I might be in the minority, but it would actually be cool to swim through the Paradise Pier lagoon as part of a triathlon. How many people can say: "I swam in the DCA lagoon!" ... legally, too.

At least I know one of my "million dreams" would come true at a Disney park if given that opportunity.


Couldn't one assume the event organizers and Disney have already thought about health and safety concerns regarding the water and lagoon's bottom before approving event logistics?
