Yes, I suppose. But I'm so over tape that I refuse to keep them. I sold my entire Disney VHS collection for $20!

Oh, and on the Harmonie remote- I noticed this morning that it is asking questions that is designed to fix my problems. As soon as I'm done transfering a movie from my DVR to a DVD I'll see if it can fix itself for me. Wow, technology still amazes me....

I still remember getting one of the first LCD digital watches in the early 1970s It was a prototype from Western Digital as I recall. My dad worked in the electronics industry and had an in. I was the envy of my high school! Now I have a remote for my home theater that wants to fix itself.

What's the issue? Is it changing to the wrong input on the TV? If so, following the questions will fix it one, but the next time you try to change activities you'll probably still have issues again.

Things to check to permanently fix it - confirm that you have the inputs listed in the right order. Find out whether your TV skips an input if no device is connected and make sure the Harmony is set to match if it does or doesn't. Shout expletives at the remote if it still doesn't work.

Thanks GD.

Yes, the problem seems to be that it never changes the input on the TV. Not that it chooses the wrong input, but that it doesn't change it if I'm switching to a different device (IE going from watching cable to a DVD). I think the problem may be that the remote is trying to change the input too quickly before the TV is completely on.

Yes, my TV is set to skip the unused inputs, and yes I've told the remote this. However, there are a few other problems when programming the remote when it comes to the inputs. The name of the buttons on my original remote don't match the names I can choose from in the Logitech program. They don't have just a "Input" choice. They have "Input1" "Input2", etc.

I gave up on it for now. I'll try some more later.

So back to the Blueray issue.

I've tried other blueray discs, and they all do the same. It won't "Resume" play after stopping.

I have a Samsung HT-BD2ET 5.1 Surround Sound Home Theater.

Anyone else have a Samsung, or this model even, and experience the same problem?

Also, it's a pain but it looks like you have to update the Firmware every 2-3 months to keep up with the programing. Is that normal for other Blueray makers? Usually, I just update when I buy a new disc that the firmware won't support, there by skipping a few updates and updating about every 6 months.

Update:

The Nerd Heard guy came to calibrate my TV, and while he was here he got my Harmonie remote figured out. The biggest problem, he said, was due to the fact that I had my cable signal on input 9, but the remote only had code for up to 8 inputs. So he put it on the unused input #5 and all is well!

The calibration made quite a lot of difference!

And I got the annoying surroundsound figured out as well. I noticed the audio didn't quite match the video. The factory setting for all of the speakers were for 10 feet away. The center is ON the TV, and the front speakers are only 3 feet away. So I dropped them down to the lowest setting of 5 feet, and it works great!
