				            | *wince* Yes, I suppose. But I'm so over tape that I refuse to keep them. I sold my entire Disney VHS collection for $20! Oh, and on the Harmonie remote- I noticed this morning that it is asking questions that is designed to fix my problems. As soon as I'm done transfering a movie from my DVR to a DVD I'll see if it can fix itself for me. Wow, technology still amazes me.... I still remember getting one of the first LCD digital watches in the early 1970s It was a prototype from Western Digital as I recall. My dad worked in the electronics industry and had an in. I was the envy of my high school! Now I have a remote for my home theater that wants to fix itself.

Things to check to permanently fix it - confirm that you have the inputs listed in the right order. Find out whether your TV skips an input if no device is connected and make sure the Harmony is set to match if it does or doesn't. Shout expletives at the remote if it still doesn't work.

				            | Thanks GD. Yes, the problem seems to be that it never changes the input on the TV. Not that it chooses the wrong input, but that it doesn't change it if I'm switching to a different device (IE going from watching cable to a DVD). I think the problem may be that the remote is trying to change the input too quickly before the TV is completely on. Yes, my TV is set to skip the unused inputs, and yes I've told the remote this. However, there are a few other problems when programming the remote when it comes to the inputs. The name of the buttons on my original remote don't match the names I can choose from in the Logitech program. They don't have just a "Input" choice. They have "Input1" "Input2", etc. I gave up on it for now. I'll try some more later.

				            | So back to the Blueray issue. I've tried other blueray discs, and they all do the same. It won't "Resume" play after stopping. I have a Samsung HT-BD2ET 5.1 Surround Sound Home Theater. Anyone else have a Samsung, or this model even, and experience the same problem? Also, it's a pain but it looks like you have to update the Firmware every 2-3 months to keep up with the programing. Is that normal for other Blueray makers? Usually, I just update when I buy a new disc that the firmware won't support, there by skipping a few updates and updating about every 6 months.

| I Floop the Pig | Are you trying it with the Harmony, or with the remote that came with the player? Sometimes the Harmony remote needs some tweaking to prevent it from sending a command twice in a row. If you're using the Harmony, it may be that you're hitting "stop" once, but that the remote is sending "stop" twice, which would cause the player to clear the info on where to resume. So if you haven't yet, try it using the original remote or the physical "stop" button on the player.

| BRAAAAAAAINS! | Does that player have a bookmark button on the remote? (Just 'borrowing' a friends Samsung 2550 for a bit- maybe I can help) Apparently, on BD-J (Bluray with Java) discs, the player won't do auto-resume, but you can always make bookmarks, then when you come back, go to the scene selection menu, and your bookmarks should be there. |

				            | GD- Because I haven't gotten all the bugs worked out of the Harmonie I haven't begun using it yet. And I have made sure not to press the stop button twice on the original remote. Matt- That's not a bad idea. If I can't finish a movie and want to return to it later I can bookmark it. I have a "marker" button on my remote. I wondered what one would use it for, and this is one use. That won't help me if the movie is accidently stopped, and it's a bit more trouble than the old "resume" function. But it's better than nothing.

				            | Update: The Nerd Heard guy came to calibrate my TV, and while he was here he got my Harmonie remote figured out. The biggest problem, he said, was due to the fact that I had my cable signal on input 9, but the remote only had code for up to 8 inputs. So he put it on the unused input #5 and all is well! The calibration made quite a lot of difference! And I got the annoying surroundsound figured out as well. I noticed the audio didn't quite match the video. The factory setting for all of the speakers were for 10 feet away. The center is ON the TV, and the front speakers are only 3 feet away. So I dropped them down to the lowest setting of 5 feet, and it works great!

				            | But can you get back to the left-off spot on your disk (the issue in the OP)?

). And I forgot to ask the Nerd Heard guy (ok, ok, the Geek Squad Guy) if he knew anything about that. But he was already spending way too much time on the Harmonie for free as it was..... So, my question is..... Any one else have a Blueray player that they can stop the Blueray DVD, and then resume where they left off? And even better, does anyone have the same player as I do and manage to get it to do this? Is it me or my player, or is it just the way this technology is?
