This is the time of year that I hate driving through the Kern Canyon in the early morning and late at night. There are numerous creatures on the road and there is no way to avoid them on the narrow, winding, 2 lane road. Luckily I haven't had to do it in many years. The sound of hitting these critters is horrid. An even worse thing for me is driving the back way, through Keene, to my sister's house in Tehachapi. There are snakes everywhere. I don't deal well with snakes.

The frogs . . .

There were some itty-bitty fingernail-sized frogs on my windshield the other morning. I didn't see them until after I started driving. Two jumped off mid-drive. The other hung on, but he wasn't still on my car (that I could see) when I went to go home. I would have taken him right back where he came from, but I'm sure he's happily hopping around some wet, unmowed grass somewhere by now.
