Shameless request to play World of Warcraft

[Moderators, please wield that ban stick if this is inappropriate.]

For anyone here who has not played World of Warcraft, I'm looking at you!

Blizzard, the game's publisher, has started a new "recruit-a-friend" program that nets the referee an in-game zebra mount. MUST. HAVE. MOUNT!!

Here are some details:
Quote:
Our new Recruit-A-Friend program has added features that reward you even more for bringing your friends into Azeroth™. Recruit-A-Friend and earn:

* An exclusive ZHEVRA in-game mount* when your friend pays for 60 days of subscription time.
* 30 Days of FREE** WoW gametime when your friend pays for 30 days of subscription time.

Also, from the moment your friend creates a character and starts adventuring with you (including the trial period), both of you will receive these additional in-game benefits:

* You and your friend will earn triple the experience when grouped together.
* For every two levels of experience your friend earns, they can grant one level of experience to any one of your characters of lower level.
* You and your friend will have the ability to summon each other from any point in the world.
Now, here is the shameless part: If you actually sign up to participate in the program with me, I will *GIVE YOU FOR FREE AND WITHOUT COST* a collector's edition box of the WoW expansion, which lets you go from level 60 to 70, and opens up two new character races from which to choose.

Just be warned that the triple experience and such is I think only good for the two months. I can park a toon to group with you but be warned I spend a fair amount of time in raids and dungeons with my high-level characters so I won't always be available.

Help help! Help give Lani a zebra pony!!

This is like asking your friends to try Crystal Meth.

I'm thinking of requesting that you be banned.

I am really not a gamer - haven't the patience. And I too have too little free time.

But good luck in your quest pusher!

A couple of friends have tried to get into WoW but I've avoided it. It sounds like something I'd get addicted to and probably should avoid it.

I tried playing WoW, and while I thought the virtual world and the character designs were incredibly cool, I was horribly intimidated by the live, social aspect of the game. The fact that all those other characters were real people made me nervous, and indeed, I was called several unkind things within my first hour, simply by trying to ask questions and find my way around.

I stuck with it for a few days, just going off on solo quests and hunting down little critters. But I felt nervous and out of place, and I can't imagine ever joining up with others on a dungeon crawl and risking becoming the goat who ruins it for everyone. It's just me. I'm uncomfortable in large groups, among strangers, etc, and online anonymity doesn't alleviate that distress for me.

On the other hand, I'm perfectly happy playing such games in person, around a table, with friends. Oh well.
