City of Industry (Los Angeles County) California
Vineland Drive-in: 626-961-9262
located at 443 North Vineland Avenue
(¼ mile west of East Temple Avenue)
Classic Drive-in that was expanded to 4 screens,
with an overall capacity for over 1500 cars, which
still draws fantastic crowds on most weekends,
as the Los Angeles area's nearest operating Drive-in.
Open year-round, with 4 sets of double features,
and audio provided by FM stereo radio broadcast.
Admission: $7.00 (ages 12&UP); ages 11&under free.

I saw a double feature there last year.. WOLF CREEK & HOSTEL in a ram van full of scream queens... we should do a lot outing to the drive in.. very swanky.. the consession stand is pretty gnarly.. pack some treats ....

The first movie I remember seeing at the drive-in was "Love Story." I went with my parents on the way back from the beach.

The Dive-In became a reality at the home of HTHBellcaptain one night not so long ago. The feature was Finding Nemo. The patrons included myself and Mattterhorn Fan. Exotic sodas and peach salsa were served.

It was fun. Someday, I've been promised a poolside Jaws showing. (hee hee hee)

Well, if you are looking for a premium movie going experience, then no, it wouldn't be ideal. But it is the fun party atmosphere that makes it fun.

And our plan included a big pro-audio sound system and a very bright professional projector (I had access to the former and my friend had access to the latter). It wouldn't have been THX certified, but it would have been plenty bright and as loud as we needed it to be.

Three years we've lived here and there's a drive-in right down the street we've never been to. We should really do that. Of course, I'm usually in charge of the food. Last time, it was chicken parmesan.

They've had "Dive In" movies at Raging Waters for years- It's especially fun to watch "Jaws" while sitting in an innertube.

This article from Time Magazine in 1989 not only mentions the Dive In movies, but a new attraction at Disneyland called Splash Mountain

Wow! That's the drive-in my family use to go to when I was a kid!! I didn't know it was still operating!

The last time I went to the drive-in was horrible! It was at Highway 39 before it closed (and the built a Walmart- just like in the country song!) People coming and going, using their headlights, putting their foot on the brake it the spot in front of us and leaving it for long periods, and I missed the comfortable stadium seating and suround sound. I'm too spoiled to go back to drive-ins!
